My journey began with my beloved dog, Beetle. When Beetle suffered a neurological injury that led to partial incontinence, my heart broke. I tried using a belly band to manage his condition, but I constantly worried about accidents during the night. Most of all, I didn’t want Beetle to feel distant or rejected during such a challenging time. Our bond meant everything to me, and I knew that being close to him, especially at night, was crucial for both of us.
But the market didn’t have what we needed. So, I took matters into my own hands and created a bed that was not only functional but kept Beetle right by my side. Seeing him rest peacefully, with that familiar look of contentment and security, filled me with such relief. That’s when I knew – this wasn’t just a solution for Beetle. It was something that could help countless other pets and their families too.
The Sleepy Hippo Bedside Pet Bed was born out of love, compassion, and a desire to make a difference. And when I later added a bed for my other dog, Carlos – my cuddle bug who loves snuggling but made sleep impossible – I realized just how important this product could be for pet parents everywhere.
